Available Programs
- College Application Workshops: Workshops are offered through the fall and spring semesters as publicly funding and private colleges and universities open their enrollment. Workshops are often help after school and are open to all students to attend.
- Conflict Mediation: We have students who have been trained to help students resolve conflicts with other students. Students are very resourceful in helping their peers deal with personal misunderstandings that damage relationships or mediate conflicts before they turn into acts of violence. All mediation sessions are voluntary and confidential, except situations regarding possible child abuse, threatened suicide or threats of violence. These situations must be reported to the adult counselor-supervisor in charge. Conflict mediators understand teen issues and feelings because they are teens themselves. Need a third party to help you resolve a conflict? Chat with one of the trained mediators. Students wishing to speak to our conflict mediators should talk with Mrs. Manchester.
- Personal Statements Workshops: The Personal Statement is one of the elements of a completed college application. The workshop is designed to assist the perspective college candidate in completing an essay that accurately describes the student.
- Peer Counseling: Teenagers are great resources for each other. We have students who are trained and supervised as peer counselors for students to talk to about school, family, or personal concerns. All contacts are voluntary and confidential, except situations regarding possible child abuse, threatened suicide or threats of violence. These situations must be reported to the adult counselor-supervisor in charge. Peer counselors understand teen issues and feelings because they are teens themselves. Need a friend? Chat with one of the peers. The peer counselors are located in the Guidance Center.
